FROM HATE TO HOPE
OUR MISSION
North Idaho United is a community-organized initiative in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, dedicated to combating hate and bigotry by transforming negative acts into positive action. Each time the Patriot Front targets our community with racist, bigoted, or hateful vandalism, imagery, messaging or demonstrations, we respond by encouraging members of our community to make a donation in any amount to the Human Rights Education Institute (HREI), which promotes social justice and inclusion. North Idaho United encourages all our neighbors to help build a community where empathy, respect, and safety prevail. Join us in turning acts of hate into hope.
WHY IT MATTERS
The Patriot Front is responsible for over 20 separate incidents involving distribution of propaganda in North Idaho so far in 2024, which is a significant increase over the last few years. Many of these instances involve multiple locations being targeted on the same day. The Patriot Front uses the publicity from their public displays to attract new members and they are responsible for thousands of racist, antisemitic, and other hateful acts of vandalism monthly nationwide.
For every location in North Idaho where Patriot Front distribute propaganda or have demonstrations, we are asking community members and local businesses to pledge a dollar amount to donate to the Human Rights Education Institute (HREI). North Idaho United is not affiliated with HREI, but we believe education is the key to building a strong and welcoming community for our residents and visitors.

The Human Rights Education Institute offers proactive education programs that teach human rights, acceptance, respect for diversity, and cultural humility. Their programs, activities, and events seek to reduce racial prejudice and increase understanding in our community.
The Human Rights Education Institute is on a journey to promote human rights for every person in the Pacific Northwest, serving primarily Eastern Washington, Northern Idaho and Western Montana. The institute addresses a wide range of diversity issues including race, ethnicity, gender, socioeconomic class, age, sexual orientation, religion, disability, and job and life circumstances.
